From Winter Rest to Spring Bloom: What’s New at Powhatan Posies

As March comes to a close, we’re finally seeing the first signs of spring here at Powhatan Posies! Our cheerful daffodils are in bloom, dotting the farm with bright pops of yellow and reminding us that warmer days are just around the corner. These resilient beauties are some of the first flowers to emerge after winter’s chill, and they never fail to bring a smile to our faces. It won’t be long before more of our seasonal favorites follow suit, but for now, we’re soaking in the simple joy of fresh daffodil bouquets.

Winter may be our farm’s quieter season, but that doesn’t mean we’ve been hibernating! Over the past few months, I’ve been diving into floral education by attending conferences and furthering my design skills. Learning new techniques and exploring fresh inspiration keeps my creativity blooming, even when the fields are bare. Investing in continued growth is a big part of my passion for floral artistry, and I can’t wait to bring these new ideas to life in our arrangements this season.

Of course, winter also brings the opportunity to slow down and recharge. I’ve been taking time to read, experiment with new recipes in the kitchen, and simply enjoy the slower pace of farm life before the hustle of spring kicks in. These moments of rest and reflection are just as important as the busy growing season, helping me step into the new year with fresh energy and inspiration.

With spring now at our doorstep, I’m looking forward to all the beauty and excitement the coming months will bring. From fresh-cut flowers to new workshops and events, there’s so much to look forward to at Powhatan Posies.
